*Vikings hold on to defeat winless Lions*
DETROIT (Ticker) -- Tarvaris Jackson sparked the surging Minnesota Vikings to a 20-16 victory Sunday over the woeful Detroit Lions, who took another step toward becoming the NFL's first 0-16 team.
Jackson, who replaced the injured Gus Frerotte at halftime, passed for 105 yards and threw the go-ahead 11-yard touchdown pass to tight end Visanthe Shiancoe to give Minnesota a 17-13 lead with 11:22 remaining.
Adrian Peterson rushed for 102 yards and Chester Taylor scored on a 17-yard run for the Vikings (8-5), who have won five of their last six games.
Calvin Johnson hauled in a 70-yard TD reception for Detroit (0-13), which is three losses away from joining the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-14) as the only winless teams in NFL history.
