*Kolb, Hunt help Eagles soar over Panthers*

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- After lightning struck in the first quarter, the Philadelphia Eagles struck in the fourth.

Kevin Kolb threw a 33-yard touchdown pass and Tony Hunt ran 51 yards for another score as the Eagles erupted for 24 unanswered points in the final period to defeat the Carolina Panthers, 24-13, on Thursday.

Trailing 13-0 midway through the fourth quarter, Kolb got the Eagles (1-1) on the board with a 33-yard strike to Greg Lewis. Philadelphia then pulled within 13-10 on a 40-yard field goal by Richmond McGee that was set up after Justin Roland recovered a Panthers fumble.

Kolb finished 14-of-27 for 155 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception.

After forcing Carolina (1-1) to punt, the Eagles took over on their own 15 and drove to midfield before Hunt scampered up the middle and broke several tackles before racing into the left corner of the end zone with 2:15 remaining to give Philadelphia its first lead at 17-13.

Roland completed the scoring by returning an interception of a deflected pass from Matt Moore 74 yards for a touchdown.

The game was delayed 58 minutes when lightning struck with 5:01 left in the first quarter.

After play resumed, Philadelphia drove into Carolina territory and lined up for a field-goal attempt. When the ball was snapped, holder Sav Rocca attempted a shovel pass but the ball was intercepted by Richard Marshall, who returned it 78 yards for a touchdown to give the Panthers a 7-0 lead.

John Kasay kicked two field goals to increase Carolina's margin to 13-0 before Philadelphia made its comeback.

Both starting quarterbacks - Carolina's Jake Delhomme and Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb - each played a half. Delhomme completed 9-of-14 passes for 54 yards and an interception, while McNabb finished 11-of-24 for 98 yards.

Philadelphia wide receiver Reggie Brown (hamstring) left the game during the first series of the game and did not return.
